Children grow up so fast. You didn’t have time to look back, and yesterday’s baby is already briskly striding into the first grade with a huge bouquet of flowers. Therefore, parents want to capture as many happy moments in the life of their beloved child as possible. In addition to photographs and videos, you can make original casts of your baby's arms and legs.

It is necessary

Gypsum, water, starch, salt, sandpaper, gouache, frame

Instructions

Step 1

Order the production of casts in a workshop or photo studio. Special kits are sold in stores, purchasing which, you yourself can easily make souvenir "paws" of your crumbs as a keepsake. The kit usually includes a mold gel and a special impression compound. The gel is poured into a mold, then a hand or a child's leg is applied to its surface. A plaster composition is poured into the resulting form, which, after complete solidification, becomes a plaster cast.

Step 2

There is the following way of making casts. Knead an elastic, salty dough. For 1 cup flour and 1 cup salt, take half a cup of brewed starch. Brew starch as follows: dilute 1 tablespoon of starch in half a glass of cold water and pour into 1 glass of hot water. Take half a glass of the resulting solution and knead the dough on it. Divide the resulting dough into 4 portions and make cakes from them 3-4 centimeters thick, and the length equal to the size of the baby's legs and arms. Place the cakes in some container, you can put them on a plate. Then take the crumb in your hands and carefully make prints of its handles and legs on the cakes.

Step 3

Buy a regular cast. Dilute it quickly with water to a sour cream consistency and pour it into the resulting children's footprints. When the plaster is completely cured, remove it from the mold and gently sand the edges with sandpaper.

Step 4

Then connect your imagination and use gouache to color the resulting casts. You can decorate the memorable "paws" of your baby in beautiful baguette frames, complementing the picture with a funny photo, a tag from the hospital and a funny poem. Also, if you wish, you can make casts of the hands of the parents of the little toddler. Place them in a frame next to the baby shapes of the arms and legs. Such a set will not only keep important moments in memory, but also decorate your home.
