Going to school, the child should be able to read and count well. It is the parents' task to teach him this. The sooner you start this training, the more success you can achieve.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that, first of all, the child is interested in the game. Create and tell your kid stories about numbers and letters. Use cubes, drawings, crafts as visual material.
Step 2
Introducing the child to consonants, name the sounds, not the names of the letters (the letter "r", not "re", the letter "b", not "bh"). Reading is quite a complex process, so be sure to explain what vowels and consonants are before learning to read. Explain how voiced consonants differ from deaf ones (put your hand to your throat and pronounce the sounds "b" and "p"). The child must understand what a syllable is and how a word can be divided into syllables. Play games - clap your hands as many times as there are syllables in the word "self-years"; toss the ball as many times as there are vowels in the word "ma-ma", etc. Only after that, proceed to reading words, sentences, and then short texts.
Step 3
Do not overload the child. Classes should be fun. Praise your child if he completed the task correctly. Choose bright, colorful books with large letters for reading. Take a close look at the pictures and start reading. Let it be a well-known fairy tale or poem (for example, the poems of Agnia Barto, familiar to him from childhood).
Step 4
When teaching counting, introduce your child to the composition of the number. How can you get the number 5? 1 + 4, 2 + 3, 3 + 2, 4 + 1. Lay out all the numbers up to ten in this way. Do it with candy, fruits. In the future, this will help you quickly learn to add and subtract in your head.
Step 5
If your child likes to draw, use educational books where you need to complete simple tasks and draw or color objects, animals.
Step 6
If you cannot cope on your own, invite a teacher to your child for additional lessons. It will help you identify and fill gaps in your child's knowledge. Classes with peers in child care centers may also be helpful. The element of competition during this training will help the child to mobilize their strength.
Step 7
Use the reading and counting tutorials to guide you through all the stages of learning to read and count. For example, with cubes of the famous educator-innovator Nikolai Zaitsev. They can be purchased from a store or ordered online. A manual with detailed explanations is attached to the techniques. He also has a methodology for developing writing skills.
Step 8
Be patient. Even if it seems to you that the child is moving slowly and with difficulty mastering new information, do not rush. For a baby, all this is the first time. Try to support your child. Do not scold if he does not understand something. Set aside difficult material for a few days, and then come back to it again. Look for new ways to explain difficult points.
