A breastfeeding woman should drink enough fluids: this is about two to three liters per day. It is important that the water that the woman drinks is purified or at least boiled. Do not drink carbonated water. Also, breastfeeding should not consume fruit drinks, as they contain dyes and preservatives.
Doctors have come to a consensus that it is better for a nursing woman to give up cow's milk. If earlier our grandmothers and mothers were sure that there are a lot of useful substances in cow's milk, and it increases lactation, now the opposite has been proven. Whole milk can cause bloating and colic in babies. Milk can be added when cooking, porridge, mashed potatoes, but its use should be limited to 100-150 milliliters per day.
It is better to replace milk with other fermented milk products: yogurt or kefir. If you are a big lover of milk and cannot deny yourself the pleasure of drinking it, then you can mix milk with coffee or tea. Especially useful for lactating milk tea. It is also good to add milk to coffee in order to reduce caffeine levels. Very often, lactose deficiency occurs in lactating women, especially for allergy sufferers. Therefore, before drinking cow's milk in large quantities, it is better to think about how beneficial it will be for the baby.
