Most newborn babies do not look exactly as their young mothers imagine. In order not to be scared and not to think that something is wrong with the baby, it is better to familiarize yourself with the information on this issue in advance.
Necessary

- - consultation with a neonatologist.
Instructions
Step 1
The head of a newborn baby is egg-shaped. This is due to the fact that during childbirth, the bones of the child's skull had to adjust to the maternal birth canal. In a few days, the head will take on a normal shape. On the crown of the head, when palpating, you can notice a small hole in the skull, covered with skin - this is the fontanelle, which will gradually grow together. A baby can be born with or without hair - this is absolutely normal.
Step 2
The eyes of almost all newborn babies are blue. It will change until about six months. If your baby's eyelids are swollen, this is due to squeezing during labor. The swelling will subside in a day or two. Squint is also a common occurrence - the newborn is not yet able to control the muscles of the eyes.
Step 3
The stump of the umbilical cord can be frightening with its unaesthetic or unnatural position. Do not be afraid: with proper care, the cord will fall off after about ten days, and the baby's navel will take the shape of a coiled snail.
Step 4
The hands and feet of the child may be bluish in color - this is due to poor circulation. The limbs are twisted - muscle tone is increased. The baby's feet may be too curled in or out. All this is successfully corrected with massage.
Step 5
The skin of a newborn baby sometimes causes a lot of anxiety and fear. It can be wrinkled, with red spots or protruding vessels, covered with fluff or birthmarks, and peeling off. Most of these problems are caused by skin immaturity or an allergic reaction to the mother's diet. If the skin color is yellow, a doctor should monitor the child's condition. After several treatments, the jaundice usually disappears.
