Modern children cannot imagine their life without a computer. With it, they communicate, play games, explore the world, do their homework, read, draw and learn. As a result, the child can spend the whole day at the computer. This should never be allowed.
The computer today can replace teachers, friends, mentors and even parents for a child. Sites, forums, social networks, game portals - all of this was created in order to take up as much of a modern person's time as possible. Children, who have a lot of free time, spend several hours at their computers. As a result, their health suffers: vision deteriorates, a sedentary lifestyle slows down the child's physical development, and the low intellectual level of the content of most sites negatively affects intelligence. In order to prevent this, parents must wean their child from spending a lot of time at the computer.
Time it right
To begin with, establish a rule of how many hours a day a child can spend at the computer. It should be noted that the total time in front of any screen - a computer or TV - for a child in elementary school should be no more than 2 hours a day, in middle and high school - no more than 3 hours. Based on this, agree with the child how much time he will spend on television programs, and how much on computer games and virtual communication. From now on, he must always adhere to this rule, regardless of whether it is a school day or a weekend, his parents are in a bad mood or in a good mood. You cannot extend the time at the computer for good grades or washed dishes, come up with other rewards for this. After all, the health of the child is at stake, which the computer does not improve at all.
To track how a younger student complies with this rule, you can not allow him to turn on the computer while his parents are not at home and only be allowed to use the device under their supervision. With an older child, you can simply negotiate and rely on his honesty, warning about the consequences of violating such a rule. It is useful to install a parental control program on your computer to restrict your child's access to sites that are harmful to him.
Show an example
In addition, parents themselves do not need to set a bad example for their children and sit at the computer for hours if it is not about work. The importance of an example in this matter is very great, because if parents from early childhood devote time to the baby, spend free evenings reading books or a useful hobby, then the child will not get used to the computer. Children find their only interest in it only when their parents do not pay enough attention to them and do not show other ways to take their leisure time.
