Your baby has already grown up, it's time to instill in him the most necessary hygiene skills. Of course, the most exciting question that arises before parents: how to teach a baby to walk in a potty. Yes, it is sometimes very difficult and long - after all, the baby is still small and does not quite understand what they want from him!

Sometimes parents are interested in the age when they should start planting their child in the pot. Everything here is purely individual, since all children are different. There is an opinion that boys are a little lazier than girls, so it is a little more difficult to teach them to relieve themselves in a pot. This, of course, is not true! Again, I repeat: it all depends on the development and character of the child.

Experts believe that the optimal age for instilling hygiene skills varies between 18-24 months - the child can already control urination and emptying. But this does not mean that until then you should not show him the pot. As soon as the baby began to sit firmly on the bottom, periodically put him on the "children's toilet". Please note that it should not be cold, otherwise, the crumb will abandon it for a long time. Of course, at this age (5-9 months) he still does not quite understand why he should not wear pants, but perhaps after a certain time this skill will become a habit. All this time the child gets acquainted with a new subject.

If the kid does not want to use the potty in any way - do not scold him, as this will only provoke his aversion to the "children's toilet". In a gentle and calm voice, explain to him that you need to write there. Plant your child on a potty every hour, and closer to two years old - every hour and a half.

Going to the potty should be the desire of the baby, not yours. Therefore, you should not impose this skill on him, let alone scold him for wet pants. Be sure to praise successes and close your eyes to failures.

So that the child has an idea of why a pot is needed, tell him that now he will write or poop. Undoubtedly, it will be difficult for the baby to pronounce these words at first, so shorten them, for example, "writing-writing".

The pot must be in the place where the baby can get it.

Sometimes there are situations when a baby, already potty trained, suddenly refuses it and, in spite of his parents, goes to the toilet in his pants. The reasons for this are varied. Perhaps you made the mistake of yelling at the child after the next described things. Or perhaps your child is going through a so-called “one year crisis,” which lasts from 10 to 13 months. At this time, children are observed protests against the demands of adults, including requests to go to the toilet for a potty. You just need to wait out this time - to give the child a little independence. Remember that if you are persistent and strict, the crisis can drag on for a longer time.

Do not forget to praise your baby and then he will delight you! And remember: everything has its time!
