Summer is the time of holidays, and many parents are going to take their children with them on the trip. How to make sure that the baby does not get bored and does not cry the entire flight? To do this, you need to prepare in advance.
To make flying with a small child on an airplane as pleasant as possible, several rules should be followed:
1. If the child is very young (he is not yet a year old), try to choose a flight so that the child's sleep falls out during the flight. Thus, at least part of the flight, the child will sleep peacefully. If you have the opportunity to sleep off after the flight, you can choose the night flight.
2. When planning your vacation, choose those countries that can be reached in 3-4 hours without transfers. Whenever possible, choose regular flights rather than charter ones, as the latter are often rescheduled, and there is a possibility that you will spend a few extra hours at the airport with a small child.
3. Bring baby food on board, even if he is already eating adult food. This is not prohibited by the carry-on baggage rules. Children often refuse food offered by the airline, and the child is unlikely to be able to endure several hours without food.
4. Take your child's favorite toys on the flight. For a toddler under three years old, it is better not to take toys with small details, pencils and other small objects, since, most likely, the child will drop them or deliberately scatter them on the floor of the plane. If allowed by the airline's rules, during the flight, you can watch cartoons with your child on a tablet or laptop.
5. During takeoff and landing, let your child drink or suck on candy so that his ears will not get blocked.
