Step 1
Where to start complementary foods is up to you. There are many proven techniques, but there is still no consensus. Let's try to consider different options for starting complementary foods: start with baby apple juice. On the very first day, give one drop of juice from a pipette, see the baby's reaction (skin rashes, stools, etc.), then constantly increase the amount of drink. This method has its drawbacks: the baby quickly gets used to the sweet taste, after which it can be very difficult to perceive the taste of vegetables or meat. The same is true for the fruit puree starting method.
Step 2
Starting with vegetable purees is a good option. Choose vegetables like cauliflower first. broccoli or squash are hypoallergenic foods that are generally very well tolerated by your little one. You can buy mashed potatoes ready-made in jars, or cook it yourself - it's very simple: stew the vegetables for a few minutes, then grind with a blender. It is better not to give salt to a child under one year old.
Step 3
You can start complementary foods with porridge. Personally, I chose this type of complementary food for us and did not regret it: the child quickly got used to cereals, gained weight (there was a shortage). Cooking porridge is quick and easy. I started with liquid porridge, which I gave from a bottle, looked at the baby's reaction, then made it thicker and gave it to the child from a spoon, gradually increasing the portion. Start with oatmeal or rice porridge. By the way, semolina is not recommended for children under one and a half years old.
