An ectopic pregnancy is a pathological case in which the ovum is not in the uterine cavity. This is due to the inability of the fallopian tubes to fulfill their intended purpose - to transport the fertilized egg to the uterus. An ectopic pregnancy is very dangerous for a woman's life, so it is very important to diagnose the pathology in time.
Instructions
Step 1
Symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy in the early stages are very similar to those of a normal pregnancy: delayed menstruation, toxicosis, swelling of the mammary glands, etc.
Step 2
As a rule, women do not attach importance to the signs characteristic of an ectopic pregnancy: pulling pains in the lower abdomen, low blood pressure accompanying dizziness and fainting, vaginal bleeding and a feeling of heaviness in the perineum and rectum. These symptoms may not be signs of pathology, however, if at least one of them is present, it is important to consult a doctor urgently so that he prescribes the necessary examination. After all, if an ectopic pregnancy is detected in the early stages, then you can do without surgical intervention.
Step 3
The usual pregnancy test and blood test for hCG in an ectopic pregnancy, as in a normal pregnancy, are positive. It is possible to diagnose an ectopic pregnancy in the early stages if you notice in time a decrease in the woman's blood of the chorionic hormone secreted by the placenta. This hormone helps to block the function of the ovaries to produce new eggs.
Step 4
An ectopic pregnancy can be determined using an ultrasound examination of the uterine cavity, with the help of which it can be assumed that there is an existing pathology in the early stages. From 2-3 weeks of pregnancy, its ectopic character can be diagnosed with the help of transvaginal ultrasound, carried out by the introduction of a special sensor into the vagina.
Step 5
An early ectopic pregnancy can be detected by performing diagnostic laparoscopy, a procedure performed under general anesthesia. It unambiguously allows you to establish the pathology.
Step 6
If a woman is faced with a situation of an ectopic pregnancy and the need for surgery, her next pregnancy should be under the constant supervision of a doctor.
