It is necessary to prepare for childbirth not only morally, it is also desirable to have time to collect all the necessary things before the first contractions. And it's best to do it ahead of time. Because if labor starts ahead of schedule, you will not be at all up to the fees. By about 36 weeks, you should know exactly what to take with you to the hospital. Write a list so you don't forget anything. And start getting ready on the sly. It is in your best interest to have the bag ready as soon as possible. It will not take up much space, and you will be calm.

What to take to the maternity hospital for mom

First of all, collect all the documents so that they are in one daddy. In the maternity hospital, you will need: a passport, an exchange card, a birth certificate, an insurance policy and, if you are giving birth under a contract, the contract itself. This is the first thing you will be asked when you arrive at the hospital.

Feminine hygiene items: shampoo, a towel (for the body, for the face and a small one for examination), soap (better liquid, it is more convenient), a toothbrush and paste, 3-4 packs of pads (take the largest ones you can find - maxi, super maxi). Speaking of spacers, don't think this is too much. After giving birth, the woman begins to bleed profusely, be prepared for this. It is better to buy an extra pack of pads than to urgently call your husband to bring you what you need. Don't forget to bring toilet paper, or better yet, wet wipes. Because after tears during childbirth (if any), using toilet paper will just hurt you. If you go to the hospital in advance, take a shaving machine.

Underwear. From the previous point it follows that the thong can be left at home. Buy regular, good quality panties that you feel comfortable in. Take a few pairs so that you can take care of the baby in the hospital, not the laundry. Don't forget your bra. Now there are a lot of models especially for expectant mothers. It will be much more convenient for you to feed your baby. But it's not a fact that in the hospital you will be allowed to wear it at all. Indeed, in the first days, when milk appears, the breast should not be squeezed.

From clothes you will need a robe, a nightgown (in some maternity hospitals give out their own), slippers. Please note that you do not need to take your favorite soft flip flops to the hospital. Buy regular rubber. Firstly, there will be no problems with washing them, and secondly, you are not going to take off your shoes in the shower, are you?

When you are going to the hospital, do not forget about cosmetics. You will need it for discharge. And the mother herself will be pleased to see the photos later. By the way, take a comb too. It’s just sitting at home on the sofa it seems that you will not forget anything. And then it turns out that the dressing gown was left hanging in the closet, the hairbrush was lying on the shelf, and the insurance policy was in general no one knows where. Treat fees responsibly.

If you plan to go to the hospital in advance, bring an interesting book or crosswords with you. Because you will get tired of lying and looking at the ceiling in half an hour. Don't forget your phone, charger, and headphones. In your free time you can listen to music. If you are going to go to the hospital at the last moment, put down only your phone and charger. You definitely won't need everything else.

Place a mug, spoon, and plate in your bag in advance. Grab some food and drink. But if you are going to give birth right away, forget about food, leave it at home. You can't eat before giving birth.

And one more important point. Many women have cracked nipples in the first days after giving birth. The sensation is not pleasant. While there is time, go to the pharmacy, buy an ointment - Bepanten. Personally, I have not met a single mom who was dissatisfied with this drug. The ointment can be used from the first days, it is absolutely harmless to the baby.

What to take to the hospital for a child

Hygiene products for children. What does this include? Wet wipes - 1 pack. Baby cream or powder. Baby liquid soap. Make sure it can be used from the first days of your baby's life. Do not forget to take a package of diapers from 3 to 6 kg with you to the hospital. Even if you decide to give them up on the very first day, then you will definitely need a diaper for discharge.

Take the necessary clothes for your baby. 2 hats, 3-4 undershirts are quite enough for you (it is better to take those that are fastened with buttons in the front), socks and … That's all for now. They will give you diapers at the hospital, so there is absolutely no point in carrying a whole suitcase of your own. Your relatives will bring you clothes for discharge. Don't scare doctors with the number of your bags. Take only the essentials.

Never take a pacifier to the hospital! I already wrote in one of the articles that before a child takes a nipple in his mouth, he must learn to suckle correctly. There can be no exceptions here. Your doctor, by the way, will tell you the same.
