An open relationship is a relationship in which partners reserve the right to cheat, spend time with friends, disappear and hide the details of their lives. Free relationships are often found among young people, older people prefer to build relationships on sincere feelings and loyalty.

For some time now, the creation of a family has ceased to be the goal of life for young people. Out of nowhere, the fashion for relationships without obligations was born. Young people instill in themselves that the family is a burden that limits their freedom, and choose relationships that do not limit them.

The essence of a free relationship

Free, as usual, is a relationship built solely on the joint enjoyment of life. The couple meets 1-2 times a week, goes on vacation, has sex and breaks up until they want to rest again. Moreover, there is nothing wrong with the fact that one of the partners periodically "rests" on the side. At least, this is what “lovers” who are not burdened with classical relationships think. It would seem that there is nothing wrong with this, but this is only one side of the coin.

Is an open relationship so free?

American psychologists note that it is the victims of free relationships who very often turn to them for help. Men-owners seek solace in a psychologist's office after their halves leave free relationships for more serious-minded grooms. And the "free" women, tired of being jealous, ask the psychologist to restore their faith in themselves and help them find strength to start a new life and create a family. Rarely does anyone withstand an open relationship for a long time. Their transience is the main problem with this type of relationship.

In addition, it is difficult to name relations that are truly free in all senses and relationships. After all, with the same success, a relationship can be called casual sex of barely familiar people who met in a club and woke up in the same bed. In any case, even a "free" couple is bound by obligations that, perhaps, do not imply loyalty.

Is it worth starting a "free" romance

An open relationship is a relationship without feelings. As soon as the embryos of feelings appear in this couple, the relationship immediately ceases to be free. Therefore, it is impossible to unequivocally negatively relate to this type of relationship. It is rather a transitional stage between acquaintance and family, a kind of substitute for friendship.

The main thing to understand is that a relationship without commitment is the risk of being alone. After all, not always both partners simultaneously outgrow this stage and realize the importance of loyalty and trust. Better to measure seven times before agreeing to be a "fallback" in case of a boring evening or lonely night.
