Sometimes even the strongest and most successful marriage can be destroyed if one of the partners decides to cheat. In most cases, representatives of the strong half of humanity sin this. But what exactly are the motives that pull men "to the side"?

The marriage union imposes many obligations on partners, in particular regarding mutual fidelity. Meanwhile, it often happens that one of the spouses starts a one-time or permanent relationship "on the side" - cheats. It is believed that men cheat on their wives more often than women - on their husbands, since the patriarchal order for many centuries has provided the stronger sex with much more freedom. Of course, in each case of betrayal, its reasons are individual, but general tendencies are easy to trace. Basically, they are associated either with explicit or hidden problems in marriage, or with the psychological characteristics of a man's personality.

Marriage problems

A common mistake many women make is that they consider the wedding to be the final point in the development of a relationship, although in fact this is only one of the first stages. The natural result of this approach is a man's loss of interest in his spouse and the search for forgotten romantic feelings "on the side". In addition, everyday problems and difficulties in family life are a common cause of cheating. In the end, marriage implies responsibility, and sometimes the burden of this responsibility becomes too heavy, which prompts husbands to seek easier and more undemanding relationships.

Naturally, problems with the intimate component in marriage can also cause betrayal. It often happens that a woman who is focused on providing family comfort cannot pay attention to her husband in bed as often as he would like, and instead of making life easier for his wife, the man is cheating on her. Finally, cheating can be the result of a man feeling hurt or humiliated: being unable to assert himself in the family, he looks for opportunities to feel his worth with another woman.

Problems in the head

Marital difficulties are not the only reasons that push men to cheat. In many cases, husbands give birth to mistresses even when everything is fine in the family. This is due to psychological reasons: a craving for freedom, a thirst for adventure, a search for new sensations, neglect of marital fidelity. As a rule, such men are actually not yet ripe for a permanent relationship, but since the marriage has already been concluded, they have to “walk around” with a wedding ring on their finger. In these cases, we are talking, most often, about "one-off" sex, and not about constant lovers, since a man is pushed into treason not by marriage problems, but by interest and excitement, which quickly fade away when the goal is achieved.

Men of this type are not able to correctly prioritize, therefore, a one-time affair on the side seems to them more important than family and permanent relationships, which they are ready to sacrifice in case of something. Such behavior indicates emotional and social immaturity and selfishness, because in most cases such husbands are not ready to grant similar rights to cheat on their companions. Even if in words there is an agreement on "open marriage", in reality it comes down to the fact that only the man is cheating.
