Time is an abstract concept, so it is quite difficult to teach a child to understand the clock. However, this is necessary, because every day the student will have to determine the exact time by the clock and correctly plan free minutes.

Step 1
First of all, introduce the child to the very concept of time. Explain to your child that night comes after day and morning comes after night. Be sure to say "Good night" to your child in the evening, and "Good morning" after a night's sleep. This will help your child understand the time of day.
Step 2
Draw the baby's attention to the sequence of events, how his day goes. For example, every day in the morning he wakes up, washes, has breakfast. Point out to your child what is going on. Disassemble a fairy tale with him, for example, "Turnip". Ask him questions such as "What happened after my grandfather planted the turnip?"
Step 3
Teach your toddler to navigate past, present and future concepts. Give examples from the child's life. Conversation with you is real. A month later, his birthday is the future. And three months ago, for example, you went to see your grandmother in the village - that was in the past. Then let the kid himself try to bring such examples.
Step 4
Explain to the child the time intervals - seconds, minutes, hours. To do this, you can use the sound timer. Let the baby try to assess what he is doing in different periods of time.
Step 5
Teach your child about the season. While walking, pay attention to changes in the weather, nature, in people's clothing. Take pictures of your baby around the same place every month, then compare them with your baby.
Step 6
Start teaching your child to understand the clock when he or she has mastered counting. Hang a large bright clock with large hands and clear divisions in a conspicuous place in his room. Show your kid how the arrows spin, that they point to numbers. First, study the hour hand with your baby, and then the minute. Link the clock hands with the activities your child does every day. For example, at 7 o'clock he wakes up, at 8 he has breakfast, and at 9 o'clock he goes to kindergarten.
