Many parents think that constipation comes from solid and heavy foods, but this is not the case. There are several reasons, especially when it comes to children under the age of 3 years. It is at this time that they begin to go to the potty, absolutely clearly understand and perceive their parents, react to their attitude towards themselves.
Stress
If constipation is not persistent, pay attention to how you communicate with your child. Often, on a subconscious level, children react in a similar way to swearing about their trips to the potty. For example, if the baby did not make it in time, the parents tell him that he is bad and dirty his panties again. The next time, the baby's body may not respond to the urge of the intestines and the result will be constipation.
Sedentary
Constipation also occurs in sedentary children. Doctors call such constipation atonic. With such a chair, the child rarely and abundantly goes to the toilet, and at first the feces are dense, and the remainder is liquid, almost like diarrhea. The solution to this problem will be the physical activity of the baby: exercises, outdoor games, walks.
Food
Well, and, of course, food. Children often suffer from constipation due to mixtures. In some cases, at the request of parents or unavoidable circumstances, babies have to switch from breastfeeding to artificial feeding too early. The mixtures contain proteins that are difficult for the child's body to digest, causing hard stools. In such a situation, fermented milk mixtures will help. If the age of the baby already allows you to introduce complementary foods, vegetable purees will help out perfectly. Avoid "fixing" products such as rice.
Do not think that the problem of constipation in children does not deserve attention, especially if it happens all the time! A similar symptom can be evidence of various diseases of the intestines and stomach, so this problem should be taken seriously.
The consequences of constipation can be:
- dysbacteriosis caused by a change in the intestinal flora;
- various inflammatory processes that can lead to very serious complications; - diathesis and allergies;
- weakening of the immune system.
