Free feeding involves latching the baby to the breast as many times and at such times as the baby requires, including at night. But sooner or later, the question arises before the mother of how to finish feeding at night.

Instructions

Step 1

Night attachments to the breast with free feeding are not excluded: growing up, the child must refuse them himself. Help your little one, but do it in several steps. Each of them may take a week, perhaps a month or more. If your baby has slept with you, try putting him in a crib for the night. For many babies, this distance helps them sleep better and wake up much less often. To make the baby not very comfortable, try feeding while sitting at night.

Step 2

If your baby wakes up at night, help him fall asleep on his own. To do this, go to the crib, but do not take the child in your arms, do not swing, do not put it with you. Just talk to him in an even, soft voice, lightly stroke his tummy, back to calm him down. Do not leave until the baby begins to doze again. It's even better if dad or someone else from your family, for example, a grandmother, comes up to the crib at night. Let them try to shake the baby, offer him a drink. Only come to the rescue when they are unable to put the child to sleep.

Step 3

To replace nighttime breastfeeding, find a drink that your baby will love. It can be children's tea made from chamomile and fennel with the addition of linden blossom, mint, lemon balm. These teas can help soothe babies and improve sleep. You can offer the baby to drink plain water from your favorite mug or bottle.

Step 4

Tell your baby that all people, toys and animals sleep at night, about how good it is to sleep well and soundly. Practice going for a walk or active bathing before bed to keep the child tired. In this case, the baby will sleep better at night, of course, provided that he is full.
