A child's growth depends on many factors. Among them, the main ones are healthy sleep, exercise and food rich in vitamins and protein. The main effect on the intensity of growth is exerted by a hormone called somatotropin.

For growth and normal development in the human body, a hormone is responsible, which is called "growth hormone". The scientific name for this hormone is somatotropin.

A growth hormone

Growth hormone in children and adolescents stimulates an increase in the length of tubular bones, which ultimately affects the acceleration of human growth. In addition, growth hormone can stimulate the growth of muscle tissue and slow down catabolic processes associated with the destruction of muscle cells. Growth hormone enhances protein synthesis, accelerates fat burning, participates in the processes of carbohydrate metabolism, enhances immunity and increases the calcium content in bones.

Compared to adults, a child's body produces much more growth hormone. The maximum concentration of growth hormone in the blood is observed at about the fifth month of intrauterine development. In a developing fetus, it is 100 times higher than in an adult. Then, with age, the production of growth hormone gradually decreases.

Growth hormone production can be stimulated by: sleep, various physical exercises, amino acids and vitamins.

Vitamins

The main vitamins responsible for the growth of a child are vitamins D, B, A and C. Vitamin D regulates the formation of the skeleton, the growth of bones and cartilage. B vitamins are involved in metabolic processes, regulate the synthesis of proteins and fats. Proteins that make up bones, cartilage and teeth are formed with the participation of vitamin A. Vitamin C can improve the absorption of nutrients, is a powerful antioxidant, stimulates collagen production and improves the immune system of the child. According to some reports, only two percent of people grow as much as genetics allows them. Others grow a few centimeters shorter than their optimal height. This is due to childhood illnesses and a diet poor in vitamins.

Amino acids

Amino acids are the building blocks from which all the proteins necessary for growth are formed in the child's body. Among other things, some amino acids are able to stimulate the production of growth hormone. These amino acids include glutamine, lysine, ornithine, and arginine. Therefore, the child needs a diet rich in proteins, because it is from them that the body receives all the necessary amino acids.

Other growth factors

Healthy sleep and exercise have a positive effect on growth processes. They allow the child not only to fully realize the genetic potential inherent in him, but also to have excellent health.
