If a replenishment is expected in your family, then do-it-yourself booties will come in handy. They will warm and decorate the baby's legs. No special skill is required to knit booties, just two hours of work - and your child's first shoe will be ready.

It is necessary

  • - 30 g fine wool yarn
  • - knitting needles number 2, 5

Instructions

Step 1

Booties consist of two parts: a sole and a shoe, which is knitted first.

Cast on 72 sts, including hem, and knit the first 6 rows. The next 8 rows are made in stockings, i.e. rows with front and back stitches alternate.

Step 2

Divide the stitches into three parts so that there are 28 stitches in the sidewalls, and 14. Continue stocking knitting: in the front row, knit the loops of the right side and 13 loops from the center. The first loop of the left side is knitted together with the last 14th loop of the central part.

Step 3

Turn the work over to the wrong side. Knit purl 13 and stitches 14 and 15 together. Then, in the same way in the front row, only all with front loops. Continue this descent until half of the sidewalls are knitted, i.e. until 14 stitches remain on each side. In this case, the number of loops in the central part does not change.

Step 4

Knit the next 8 rows in stocking stitch. In the front row, complete an openwork pattern with holes for ties. To do this, alternate two loops along the entire row with the front and yarn. In the purl row, all yarns and stitches must be purl. After 12 rows, the openwork pattern will need to be repeated. The last 6 rows are knitted with hosiery, after which the loops are closed.

Step 5

Tie the sole with a stocking knit. To do this, cast on 5 loops and knit the first row with the front ones. At the end of every fourth row, add 2 loops until you get 13 loops in the work. Knit the next 20 rows evenly, and then add on the loop along the edges of the front row. Having knitted another row, repeat the increase, knit the next 6 rows again evenly. In the next rows, decrease the loops at the beginning, alternating 2 rows, where one loop is removed, and 2 rows, where two. Close the remaining 5 loops.

Step 6

Sew the ironed parts together and crochet on the front side. Pass the tape through the holes in the openwork row.

Step 7

Tie the second bootie in the same pattern.
