The benefits of gymnastics with babies are undeniable - it brings parents and children closer together, develops coordination in the baby, and accelerates his mental and physical development. A correctly selected set of exercises will not only not harm the baby, but will also contribute to strengthening his body and health in general. Exercises should begin in the fourth week of a baby's life after consulting a pediatrician.

Instructions

Step 1

From birth, a baby is characterized by a “twisted” body position, his muscles are weak, and his coordination is almost undeveloped. Over time, the child's condition improves by itself, but a special set of exercises - gymnastics for babies - will help speed up this process.

Step 2

Before starting any set of exercises, you should consult a doctor for advice and find out if the child is ready for exercise and if there are any contraindications to them. If the doctor gives permission for gymnastics, then they begin in the fourth week of the baby's life. The older the child becomes, the more movements are allowed to be performed during exercise and the more difficult these movements become.

Step 3

Any set of exercises should be perceived by the child as a fun game that brings him closer to his parents. During the exercises, the kid will touch different parts of his body and, thus, study them. It is for this reason that it is best to do gymnastics during a diaper change, when the baby is completely naked and nothing prevents him from knowing his body. Charging is done on a hard surface such as a changing table.

Step 4

Basic rules for gymnastics:

- less than half an hour should pass between gymnastics and meals;

- each exercise should be done at least 3 times;

- gymnastics is carried out in a warm, well-ventilated room;

- charging must be carried out regularly;

- during the exercises, you should smile at the baby and praise him;

- you should not do exercises intended for older children or repeat the exercises too many times;

- performing a light massage during gymnastics, all movements should be directed to the center of the body;

- do not do gymnastics if the child is tired or sick.

Step 5

A set of exercises for young children:

- put the child first on his back, and then on his stomach, alternately making a soft massage of the abdomen, limbs, back and buttocks;

- the baby lies on his back, the parent slowly and carefully bends and unbends his limbs;

- put the baby on his stomach for 2-3 minutes and wait until he lifts his head;

- put the child on his back and gently press with thumbs on the center of the palms and feet, while the baby will reflexively bend the limbs;

- put the baby on his stomach, create with his own hands an emphasis under the feet of the baby, from which he should push off, trying to crawl forward;

- gently take the baby under the armpits and bring him to an upright position, feeling support under his feet, the child will reflexively begin to make movements resembling walking;

- the baby lies on its side, the parent, holding the baby's legs with one hand, runs his fingers from the sacrum to the neck and the baby reflexively begins to bend.

Step 6

Correct and regular performance of gymnastics has a positive effect on the health and development of the baby. Regular exercise normalizes blood circulation, strengthens muscles, and improves sleep and appetite.
