Parents should not take on an independent haircut for a girl. The boy is a different matter. Using a clipper, you can cut it as well as in a hairdressing salon, spending only a few minutes on it.

Instructions

Step 1

Ask your child to sit in a low chair. Spread some newspapers on the floor in front of him. Make sure neither your son nor you touch any grounded objects.

Step 2

Remove the protective (solid) nozzle from the machine. Instead, install one of the attachments supplied with the device. Usually, four attachments are supplied with the clipper, providing hair heights of 3, 6, 9 and 12 millimeters. Choose the one that suits your preferences and your son's preferences.

Step 3

Turn on the clipper. Move it slowly, keeping it parallel to your head, but never perpendicular. Don't press it too hard. Guide it only in the direction corresponding to the direction of the teeth of the accessory. Lift the appliance before moving it back. First cut the hair on the forehead, then on the back of the head, then on the sides. Don't forget to trim them behind the ears as well. Make sure that the height of the hair is the same everywhere, if necessary, additionally walk the machine over the places where long hair is left.

Step 4

The duration of the haircut, in order to avoid overheating the machine, should not exceed ten minutes. After finishing work, unplug the device, including from the mains, remove the nozzle and replace it back with the protective one. Place the clipper and all accessories in the box.

Step 5

Roll the newspapers gently and discard them with your hair. Wash your baby's hair with a baby-safe shampoo. If your son does not know how to close his eyes while washing his hair, use a shampoo that does not cause tears. Rinse off the shampoo thoroughly to avoid dandruff. Dry your baby's head thoroughly with a towel before leaving the bathroom. For safety reasons, blow-dry your hair in a different room. With short hair, this procedure will not take much time, but it cannot be neglected either: hypothermia of the head is much more dangerous for children than for adults.
