Prenatal pedagogy, which is a new trend in psychology and science, believes that already in the early stages of pregnancy, a child reacts differently to external factors, for example, to music.

Does the child hear music?

The question of whether the child in the uterus perceives external sounds in the early stages formally remains open to this day, since there is no unequivocally confirming data for this theory. However, since the organs of hearing are formed at the seventh week of life, and already at the ninth on the ultrasound, ears can be seen, experienced obstetricians believe that the child begins to hear already at this time. The ear bones that conduct sounds are fully formed by the nineteenth week, so that from this age the child hears exactly what is happening inside and outside the abdomen, albeit somewhat muffled due to the walls of the uterus and the surrounding waters.

To imagine how the baby in the womb perceives sounds, play a melody and lower your head under the water. Now imagine that this music is complemented by the mother's heartbeat and the sounds of her breathing.

The baby can listen to music through the mom, which is why many women put headphones on their pregnant tummies, trying to make the music more distinct. By the way, the tastes of children and their mothers do not always coincide, for example, not all children calmly listen to classical music, some in the process of listening begin to actively push, which may indicate that they do not like the classics.

What to listen to during pregnancy?

Scientists in America and England, during their research, found that rhythmic compositions cause active movements and a rapid heartbeat in a child, while calm lullabies soothe him. After thirty weeks, some babies begin to dance to the music, wiggling their fingers and body, trying to spin. So if you want to feel the baby in your belly in the late stages, put him a rousing melody, and if you want to calm him down, turn on a gentle lullaby.

If you listened to a certain melody all the time during pregnancy, try using it as a lullaby after the baby is born. Familiar music can calm the child.

Most often, children remember the musical tastes of their parents, so after the birth of a child, you may notice that your baby revives or calms down to your favorite tunes that you have listened to many times. The thing is that people usually listen to their favorite melodies more often than others, including in a pregnant state, so that your child remembered these rhythms and sounds in your womb, and now recognizes them and reacts depending on the habits developed by this melody.
