Watching TV for a child eventually becomes a real addiction. Children often neglect outdoor games, drawing, modeling, etc. for the sake of watching cartoons and TV shows. When the moment comes that the TV practically does not turn off, parents begin to think about how to save the child from television addiction.

The advice recommended by child psychologists can help in this situation.

You shouldn't turn on the TV just like that, for the background. At first, the child unconsciously looks at the screen (he is attracted by moving pictures and soundtrack), and then, abandoning all his children's affairs, follows the plot with enthusiasm. Over time, a child simply cannot do without a TV.

It is not always easy to feed a baby, especially something useful, but not loved by the child. The hand again reaches for the remote control in order to distract the child from the plate to have time to shove him a spoon or two of yummy. Over time, a habit will form: eat only in front of the TV. Being distracted from food, children, and adults too, mechanically absorb food, forgetting to chew it thoroughly and, as a rule, stomach problems will not keep themselves waiting long.

Strictly limited time. The child should be aware of what he sees on the screen. Uncontrolled viewing of all cartoons and programs in a row will lead to vision problems. It will not be superfluous to remind grandparents what and how much your child is watching. Otherwise, childish hysteria cannot be avoided, because everything is possible at the grandmother's, but at home only two hours a day.

Turning off the TV is not enough to distract your toddler from the TV. We need to find a decent replacement for viewing. You can play with your child, draw a big picture, ask for help in cleaning or preparing food (for older children), take a walk, etc.

In no case, you can not scold the kid for a long stay at the TV, it is better to put the child next to him and calmly explain what threatens continuous TV viewing.
