Step 1
Registration of marriage with a foreigner on the territory of the Russian Federation is impossible if:
- one of the persons is already married, - the applicants are relatives, - the applicants are adoptive parents and adopted children, - one of the persons is incapacitated due to a mental disorder. Before registering, it is necessary to study the Family Code of Russia. The procedure for marriage is regulated by the Russian side.
Step 2
It is necessary to submit the necessary documents to the registry office (identity card, visa, residence permit of a foreigner, certificates from the place of residence, documents that confirm that there are no obstacles to concluding a union). Also, if one of the applicants was previously married, then you must submit a certificate of dissolution. Registration requires permission from the embassy of the country of which one of the applicants is a citizen.
Step 3
All documents must be translated into Russian and notarized. Also, an apostille is required for each document. This is best done at the country's consulate. Documents can be certified by a notary or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You must make sure that in the country of which one of the applicants is a citizen, there are no restrictions on the creation of a marriage union with citizens of another country. If such restrictions are present, then the marriage will not be recognized in the other country.
