Registration of marriage in the registry office is a very important event in the life of every couple. She gives the relationship an official status, and transfers yesterday's lovers into the category of legal spouses. And as with any action that is performed in government agencies, a number of documents are required when registering a marriage.
It is necessary
- - joint declaration of marriage or separate declarations certified by a notary;
- - passports or other identity documents;
- - a document on the termination of a previous marriage;
- - permission of the local government to marry a minor;
- - a receipt for payment of the state duty.
Instructions
Step 1
If you decide to become a husband and wife and register your relationship, contact any registry office of your choice, present your passports or other identity documents, and submit a joint application for marriage. You can get the form directly from the registry office or download it from the regulatory framework or Internet resources.
Step 2
Indicate in the application your surnames, first names, patronymics, dates and places of birth, as well as the number of full years at the time of registration of the marriage. Fill in the fields "Citizenship" and "Place of residence", and optionally - "Nationality", although this is not required. Enter in the appropriate line the passport data: series, number, date of issue and the name of the authority that issued the passport.
Step 3
In the event that any of the future spouses was previously married, you need to make a mark in a special column of the application, as well as attach a document confirming the termination of the previous marriage: a divorce certificate, a death certificate or a court decision declaring the other spouse dead.
Step 4
Do not forget to reflect your wishes for your future surname in your marriage application. You can choose a common name for both spouses (most often this is the husband's surname), leave premarital or take a double one, combining the surnames of the husband and wife.
Step 5
Keep in mind that by signing the application, you confirm your voluntary consent to marry, as well as the absence of obstacles to its conclusion: the state of a registered marriage, close relationship or adoption, or being declared legally incompetent by the court. If the registry office reveals the presence of any of these circumstances, registration will be denied.
Step 6
If for a number of reasons you cannot appear at the registry office and submit a joint application, then you can indicate your desire to marry in a separate document, having certified your signature with a notary.
Step 7
The age of marriage in Russia is set from 18 years old. However, the Family Code of the Russian Federation provides for the possibility of marriage even before reaching the age of majority, but this requires permission from the local government. This document must also be presented when applying for marriage.
Step 8
Registration of marriage is subject to a state fee of 200 rubles. Pay it at the bank branch and attach the receipt to the application.
