Swaddling a baby is one of the most important baby care procedures that every mother should be able to do. At first glance, there is nothing difficult in swaddling a baby. In fact, in order not to harm the newly born little man, you need to do it correctly. Tight swaddling with straightened legs and arms extended "at the seams" complicates the digestion and breathing of the baby, and also often leads to underdevelopment of his hip joints. That is why most pediatric doctors advise mothers to do wide swaddling, in which the child maintains a natural posture for him.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a comfortable place to swaddle your baby before embarking on a wide swaddle. The easiest way is to use a special changing table. If you don't have one, sit on a regular table, a wide bed, or a mattress covered with a clean diaper.
Step 2
Lay the naked baby in the changing place and put on a previously prepared undershirt or blouse. Then take the baby in your arms and lay the diaper on the table.
Step 3
The upper part of the diaper is tight, but not tight, wrap around the baby's chest at the level of his armpits. The child's handles should remain free.
Step 4
Fold one bottom edge of the diaper so that it wraps around one of the baby's legs. Fold the second bottom edge of the film in the same way. This is done so that the baby's bare legs do not rub against one another.
Step 5
Wrap the bottom of the diaper around both legs of the baby so that nothing prevents them from moving freely.
Step 6
Wrap one upper corner of the diaper under the baby's back, and tuck the other corner into the formed pocket so that the diaper does not fall off the baby.
Step 7
There is one more way of wide swaddling - using a diaper. Fold the prepared diaper in half diagonally and place it on the changing surface. The right angle of the diaper should be directed downward, and the sharp corners should be directed to the sides.
Step 8
Wrap the left end of the diaper around the baby's left thigh, and the right end around the right hip. Do this without changing the position of the outstretched legs of the crumbs. Throw the bottom corner of the diaper up to the level of the baby's navel. Such a homemade diaper will prevent rubbing of the baby's legs.
Step 9
Next, fold the bottom edge of the large diaper up to the baby's armpits and do a wide swaddling in the usual way.
