Very often, such a joyful event as the birth of a child is accompanied by fears of a young mother, uncertainty in her own knowledge of caring for a baby, etc. One of the most common questions new parents ask is how to properly swaddle a newborn?
It is necessary
- - two diapers;
- - diaper;
- - baby changing table.
Instructions
Step 1
Spread out a warm (according to the season) diaper, put another, thinner one on top of it.
Step 2
Place the baby on top. Put a diaper on your baby. To make it yourself, take a gauze folded in a triangle, put the base of this triangle under the lower back of the newborn, and fold its tops together on the stomach, while the lower top should be wrapped over the top two.
Step 3
Place the baby on the diaper so that the top edge goes under his neck. Take both diapers by one of the top edges and wrap your baby. With one edge wrapped around the baby's handle, do the same for the second top edge.
Step 4
Now grab the bottom left edge of the diaper with your left hand and the right edge with your right hand, and fold the bottom of the diaper up onto the baby. Then place one edge of the diaper under your back, and wrap the other over the first.
The swaddling is over.
Step 5
If you want to swaddle the baby in such a way that its arms remain free, follow the same steps as described above, only in this case, make the upper edge of the diaper at the level of the baby's armpits. Put on the baby's handles "scratch" mittens, watch his nails, trim them carefully in time.
Step 6
Use envelope swaddling for outdoor walks during the cold season. In the process of such swaddling, leave the upper corner of the diaper free over the baby's head, and lift the lower one and place it on the baby's tummy. Wrap the side corners as you would for normal swaddling. The upper free corner of the diaper or blanket can cover the baby's face from the cold air.
Step 7
In hot weather, use gauze or thin cotton diapers to keep your baby cool.
When changing, wear a hat or cap on the baby's head, depending on the season.
Step 8
Monitor the temperature in the room where you are changing your baby. It should be within 24-25 ° C.
