Food allergies in babies under one year old are quite common. Most often, it affects those children whose mothers, for whatever reason, cannot breastfeed. The crumb has to be transferred to artificial milk formulas, which most often cause allergic reactions.
Instructions
Step 1
Your baby's digestive and immune systems are not fully developed from birth. Therefore, breast milk is most suitable for a baby. It is easily absorbed and makes up for the lack of protective antibodies. Artificial mixtures do not cope with these tasks. The baby's body reacts with allergies to foreign proteins that are contained in the formula.
Step 2
The age at which the first symptoms appear is different. But this mostly happens by the second or third month of life. This allergy can manifest itself differently in every child.
Step 3
If the skin is involved, the child will experience skin reactions. These are the most common signs of a mixture allergy. The baby's cheeks may turn red, the skin on them becomes shiny and inflamed, some areas are covered with a crust.
Step 4
A rash appears on various parts of the body, giving the child discomfort. Most of the rash affects the neck, tummy, thighs, or buttocks. The kid is anxious, naughty, rubs the affected areas.
Step 5
Cutaneous manifestations are often localized areas of dry, rough, and flaky skin. No baby creams or softening lotions should be used in these cases. They contain substances that can provoke an increase in an allergic reaction.
Step 6
Allergy to the mixture can also manifest as gastrointestinal symptoms. In this case, the child often regurgitates with a mixture or air, and severe hiccups appear. The intestines can react with stool problems. The child begins to suffer from either diarrhea or constipation. And sometimes, even with normal stool, allergies are expressed by bloating and severe colic.
Step 7
Less commonly, there are allergic reactions to the mixture on the part of the baby's respiratory system. They are expressed as respiratory symptoms. The child has a cough or a runny nose in the form of clear mucus. At the same time, the temperature remains normal. Do not ignore these symptoms. This is a characteristic symptom of allergies.
Step 8
The fact is that with allergic inflammation, mucus is formed in large quantities. It accumulates in the bronchi or nasal cavities. An infant's insufficiently developed respiratory system cannot cope with so much mucus on its own. Therefore, if you have any signs of respiratory distress, consult your doctor immediately.
Step 9
It is very important not to look through and diagnose the development of food allergies in a child in time. To do this, carefully monitor the baby's well-being, his stool and skin condition. If at least one of the allergy symptoms appears, this is a reason to consult a doctor. It is very important to correctly diagnose the disease and start treatment on time in order to prevent allergies from developing into more serious diseases.
