The changes occurring during this period in the body of the mother and the embryo are extremely important. At four weeks of gestation, extraembryonic organs develop: the yolk sac, amnion and chorion. All organs of the fetus develop from them in the future. They provide the basic vital processes of the embryo: respiration, nutrition, protection. The placenta is formed from the chorion, and the amnion turns into a fetal bladder.
