The child is growing, but many babies are very reluctant to part with infant habits. And one of the main items that is difficult to wean a child from is a bottle, especially at night. To make the process of weaning from it as painless as possible, you need to do everything in a timely manner and gradually.
Instructions
Step 1
Already from six months, you can give your child a try to drink from a mug or a special baby sippy cup. Give him from a cup not only tea or juices, but also milk. Usually at nine to twelve months, the baby has all the necessary skills to drink from it. At this time, you need to wean them from the bottle. After six months, children will become more stubborn, so parting with a favorite subject will be much more painful.
Step 2
Weaning a baby out of a bottle at the age of 1, 2 to 1, 5 years should be using the gradual transition method. First, stop giving him a bottle during the day, and then gradually try to give him a cup and evening milk. You can dilute the milk in a bottle, and give it whole, undiluted from a cup. Then the child will quickly understand that the drink in the cup is much tastier.
Step 3
After a year and a half, try to get your baby interested in a cup. Offer him to choose which one he will drink from tonight. You can decorate it with him or invite him to independently choose this item in the store.
Step 4
Children who are already two years old find it difficult to part with a bottle, the gradual transition method is no longer suitable for them, here you just need to “cut the ends”. Determine the day you will take the bottle away from your child once and for all. Tell him that soon she will be gone, because he has already grown up. Every day for a week, remind your baby about the upcoming event, and at the appointed time, simply remove all the bottles from the house and let them know that they are gone.
Step 5
Come up with a reward for the kid if he gets capricious without getting the usual bottle in the evening. Be sure to keep a cup of juice or compote nearby to help calm your child. Offer him a replacement. Perhaps you will have several not very pleasant evenings, but it is unacceptable to feel sorry for the child and return the bottle to him in this situation. To avoid such a temptation, it is better to throw away all the bottles.
