Step 1

In total, there are four groups of character traits. The first group includes traits that determine the attitude of an individual to people. We are talking about such properties as sensitivity, sociability, responsiveness, respect, and their opposites - callousness, isolation, rudeness and contempt.

Step 2

It is customary to refer to the second group as traits that show the attitude of the individual to his work and work in general. This group includes conscientiousness, hard work, responsibility, a penchant for creativity, as well as laziness, dishonesty, passivity.

Step 3

The third group includes character traits that show how a person relates to himself. These properties include pride, self-criticism, self-esteem, conceit, resentment, vanity, egocentrism.

Step 4

The last group includes traits that characterize the attitude of a person to material objects and things. First of all, we are talking about neatness or slovenliness, negligence in handling things and other similar properties.

Step 5

In the upbringing of a person, the central or pivotal properties of the personality (attitude to the people around them and to work) are of great practical importance.

Step 6

If we ignore the core relationships of the personality, it is impossible to correct individual shortcomings (for example, deceit or rudeness) or bring up the necessary positive qualities. Changes in character do not lend themselves to point influences, in order to obtain a positive result, it is necessary to change the entire system of interrelated properties, while it is necessary to pay attention to the formation of the correct pivotal relations. That is why it is so important to educate from childhood the correct attitude towards the people around and work, since the plastic child's psyche is more easily amenable to such influences.

Step 7

Character is directly related to temperament. Temperament is the combination of personality traits that are associated with the dynamic or emotional aspects of a person's activity. Temperament does not directly determine personality traits, but there is a relationship between character traits and temperament. The characteristics of the manifestation of character depend on temperament. For example, sociability in a phlegmatic person and a sanguine person manifests itself in different ways. Temperament can influence the development of character traits. Depending on the type of child's temperament, you need to use different methods of education in order to cultivate positive character traits in it.
