Even the most conservative parents agree that it is impossible to completely forbid a child to use the Internet. But it is necessary to make sure that he is not exposed to danger in the worldwide network. This can be done in a variety of ways.

Step 1
Install the NetPolice program on your computer. It is available in paid and free versions. There is also a version for the Linux operating system. Select in the program settings which resources your child is not allowed to view.
Step 2
In order not to install any software on the machine at all, use the online service of the same NetPolice service: set the primary DNS server with the IP address 81.176.72.82, and as the secondary one with the address 81.176.72.83. This setting can be done in any OS. Requests to sites in the "Pornography" category will be filtered.
Step 3
The disadvantage of programs that are installed directly on the computer, as well as DNS reconfiguration, is the ability to bypass these measures, say, when booting from a Live CD (children are inventive, and it costs nothing to reset the BIOS password for them). It is much better to have the provider filter the content of the pages. In this case, no matter how your child reconfigures the equipment, he will not be able to access dangerous sites. For information on the availability of such a service, contact the support service of your provider or cellular operator. In the second case, you will be able to restrict the child's access to dangerous sites and from a mobile phone.
Step 4
Some providers implement this service in a slightly different way. Filtering is carried out not by the content of the pages, but by time. The child will be able to access the Internet only at certain hours, and all that remains for you to do is to be next to him during these hours and to keep track of which resources he is browsing.
Step 5
Keep in mind, however, that even a safe Internet cannot be used as a "nanny" for a child, just like a TV. Communicate with him more, and when he uses the Internet, you yourself can tell him interesting sites on the subject that interests him. Interest him yourself, including with the use of the Internet, say, sports, fine arts, technical creativity.
