From the very first days, the genitals need careful hygiene. Improper washing often leads to inflammation, diaper rash and dermatitis. Knowing the basic rules for caring for the external genitals of your baby, you can avoid possible complications and keep her healthy.

Instructions
Step 1
Protect the girl's external genitalia skin not only from pollution and infection, but also from mechanical and other irritations. After each urination, dry them with a soft diaper or absorbent cloth, and after defecation, be sure to wash the external genital area with boiled water at room temperature and also dry it gently.
Step 2
Wash the skin only from front to back, so that the remains of bowel movements will not contaminate the vulva area. Do not wash a newborn in a basin or bath, as germs can enter the genitals from dirty water.
Step 3
After bathing and washing, dry with a soft cloth or sterile cotton swab at the beginning of the genital slit, labia, groin folds, skin and only at the very end of the perineum.
Step 4
If you notice even slight signs of irritation, powder your skin with a thin layer of talcum powder mixed with zinc powder in a 50:50 ratio, or brush with a thin layer of sterile vegetable (almond, sunflower, peach) oil. You can also relieve irritation by applying a hypoallergenic baby cosmetic to the area of redness.
Step 5
Each time you swaddle, inspect the folds of the skin, paying particular attention to the area of the external genitalia. If you find adhesion of the labia covered with secretions, gently move them apart with a cotton swab dipped in warm boiled water. Then carefully remove the discharge and dry the skin.
Step 6
When washing the external genitals of a newborn girl daily, do not use regular soap, only baby Ph-neutral.
Step 7
In the first year of a child's life, use as little as possible potassium permanganate, cosmetic and other means, since they not only very much dry the skin, but also destroy the already formed protective function of the skin.
