Mother's milk is recognized as the best nutrition for an infant. It provides it not only with a balanced composition, but also with immunity, which is vital for a small organism that is not yet able to withstand multiple infections. But by the age of four months, the baby's needs for substances increase, so new products are gradually appearing on his menu.
Instructions
Step 1
A 4-month-old baby's diet consists of five breastmilk feedings. Fruit juices are added to one of the feedings, which are administered from 1 month. From 1, 5 months, a scraped apple is added to the second feeding. And already from 4 months, the first complementary food is added to the third feeding - vegetable puree, which consists of potatoes, carrots and cabbage.
Step 2
After the baby is fully adapted to vegetable puree (after 2 weeks), one breastfeeding is replaced with complementary foods. Accordingly, the daily diet of a 4-month-old child contains four breast milk feeds and one vegetable puree. The approximate interval of daily feeding of a 4-month-old baby is 3.5 hours, and night feeding is from 6.5 to 8 hours. The intervals between feedings are individual, but in order to develop a good secretion of gastric juice, it is better to adhere to the diet.
Step 3
Feeding a 4-month-old bottle-fed baby is slightly different. All complementary foods for such children are introduced two weeks earlier. Accordingly, the daily diet of a 4-month-old child consists of four feedings with adapted mixtures (180 g each), one feeding with diluted cow's milk (150 ml) with the addition of half of the hard-boiled egg yolk and one feeding with vegetable puree (150 ml) with the addition of him olive or corn oil (half a dessert spoon).
Step 4
Apple juice is added to one of the feedings, and grated apple to the other. On the recommendation of the pediatrician, they give cottage cheese specially prepared for infants. Start with 1 tsp. and bring it to 3-4 spoons within a week. It is better to give cottage cheese with milk.
Step 5
Because formula lasts longer in the stomach, a 4-month-old bottle-fed baby should be fed at longer intervals than usual and with a smaller amount of food.
