The bathing procedure for a child is one of the most important and enjoyable. It helps to maintain hygiene, promotes the development of the baby and strengthens the relationship between him and his mother on an emotional level. While bathing, the child experiences a whole range of feelings: he receives information about the world around him and gets to know it. There is no need to be afraid of bathing. It is necessary to prepare for it in advance and follow a few simple rules.
Instructions
Step 1
You can bathe your baby at any time of the day, but it is best to do it before an evening feed. After bathing, the baby will have a good appetite and sleep better throughout the night.
Step 2
Before the procedure, the baby bath must be thoroughly washed with soap and rinsed with boiling water. Install a special stand at the bottom of the bath - a slide. Place a diaper on it to keep your baby from slipping off.
Step 3
Bathing water must first be boiled and cooled. The water temperature should be no higher than 37-38 ° С. Control it with a special water thermometer. Add a little potassium permanganate solution, chamomile broth or string to the water.
Step 4
Prepare everything you need in advance: soap, a soft washcloth, a terry towel and a change of underwear for your baby. Use special baby soap to avoid irritation or allergies in your baby. Wash your baby with soap no more than twice a week.
Step 5
Before bathing, remove all jewelry from your hands to avoid scratching your baby. It is best to bathe a baby in a bath together. One person should hold the baby and the other should wash.
Step 6
Lower your baby into the water gradually, supporting the head and lumbar region. Give your child some time to get used to the water. First, moisten only the arms and legs. Take your time and do not make sudden movements.
Step 7
Try to do everything carefully, talking quietly to your baby or singing a song. First wash your neck and chest, then your stomach, arms, legs, back and head. Thoroughly wash the folds in the neck, armpits, groin, elbow and knee folds.
Step 8
Carefully monitor the position of the baby in the bath while bathing so that water does not get into the ears, eyes or mouth. The duration of bathing should not be more than ten to fifteen minutes.
Step 9
Immediately after bathing, wrap the baby in a towel, dry it, lubricate all the folds with baby cream and change into prepared clothes.
