Even before a new person is born, his loved ones begin to think about a dowry. There is a lot to buy. The stroller is one of the main items. She, of course, is needed primarily for walking, but in the case of a temporary absence of a crib, the baby can sleep in a stroller for the first days. It is necessary to be especially attentive to her choice.
What kinds of strollers are there?
A newborn baby needs a closed stroller to keep him warm and comfortable. A toddler who already knows how to sit likes to look around and discover an unfamiliar world, so a suitable open “vehicle” is also indispensable. There are both on sale, and the designs are very diverse, and the price range is quite wide. If you want to buy not two, but one stroller, in which the child can sleep and sit, a combined option is at your service.
According to the standards, the closed stroller is intended for children from 0 to 12 months. Children from 7 months to 3 years old are entitled to an open stroller, and the combined one, respectively, is suitable for a baby from 0 to 3 years old.
Choosing a winter stroller
It is no coincidence that a closed stroller is called winter stroller. She must reliably protect from the cold. Therefore, when buying, you should pay special attention to the fabric. It should be dense, but at the same time, it should be good for air permeability, and also have water-repellent properties. In addition, the material must be environmentally friendly, so be sure to ask the seller for a certificate.
The hood can be either single or double. In the second case, the inner insulated layer is unfastened. Look at the wheels too. They should fit snugly enough. If there is a brake, check how it works. A good stroller also has some additional, but very comfortable parts. For example, on some models, the wheels can be easily changed to runners. This is especially important if your baby doesn't have a crib yet. The cradle also has legs - the stroller is removed from the wheels and placed on the floor, and the legs give it the necessary stability. The handle is very convenient, with the help of which the cradle will be easier to carry. Some modern strollers can also be used as restraints for transporting a child in a car. In this case, they are equipped with special seat belts. A small passenger will feel good while driving if the situation seems familiar to him.
Open stroller
There comes a time when the child can no longer lie quietly in a closed carriage during a walk. The child is interested in everything, he wants to see what is happening around. He already needs a lightweight open stroller. When purchasing this much-needed item, note how easy it folds up. When folded, the stroller should be small and compact, but at the same time it should be well kept upright. These strollers are usually equipped with seat belts and toy tables. Make sure the table moves back. As for belts, they are of two types - three-point and five-point. The second option is more reliable. An additional convenience for you will be a food net, and for a baby - a sun visor. Also see how many positions the stroller can have. The child can fall asleep at any time, in which case a horizontal or inclined position is preferable.
There are also very lightweight strollers - the so-called "walking sticks". They are irreplaceable on trips and hikes.
Stroller-transformer
The stroller, which can be used both for winter and summer, is now the most popular. When buying, you need to pay attention to the same as when purchasing a closed stroller. In addition, the transforming stroller has its own characteristics, so be sure to see if there are seat belts, pay attention to the position of the back. It is best if there are several intermediate positions. Such strollers also have a significant drawback. They provide less protection from the cold than closed ones. There is another version of the transformer - either a winter cradle or an armchair is installed on the same chassis. In this case, you should pay special attention to the quality of the chassis and wheels.
