Enrollment in a kindergarten is compulsory for most Russian regions. Moreover, the sooner parents register their baby in the list of those in need of kindergarten, the better.

When to put a child on the queue for kindergarten and why it is needed

Despite the fact that the construction of new kindergartens is currently going on quite actively, in most Russian cities there is an acute shortage of places in children's educational institutions. Parents can rely on the fact that their child will go to kindergarten in a timely manner, only if they take care of putting him in line in advance.

The sooner the baby is registered in the list of those in need of a kindergarten, the better. In most regions, the situation is such that a child must be put on the waiting list immediately after receiving a birth certificate. In this case, parents can count on the fact that the child will be given a place in the kindergarten upon reaching 2-3 years old.

Do not think that a week or a month of delay is a trifle. With acute shortages in kindergartens and high fertility rates, even a week of delay in application can play a decisive role. This is especially true for those children who must go to kindergarten in the fall, when all educational institutions are actively recruiting new pupils.

How to register a child in the citywide queue

In order to put a baby on the queue for kindergarten, you must apply to the city committee for preschool education with a corresponding application. In this case, you need to show the committee's specialists the original birth certificate of the child, as well as your passport, which must contain a stamp confirming registration in a particular city.

Nonresident citizens need to have a document on temporary registration at their place of residence. Without it, it is not possible to put a child on the queue in kindergarten.

You can also register your baby in the citywide queue for kindergarten via the Internet. To do this, you need to go to the website of the preschool education committee, log in, fill out a questionnaire, indicating all the necessary data in it, and also upload to the website the originals of the birth certificate, some pages of the passport of one of the parents and, if necessary, a certificate of temporary registration for place of stay.

At the end of the child's enrollment in the list of those in need of kindergarten, he will be assigned an individual number. Parents will be able to periodically visit the site and monitor how the queue is progressing.
