Step 1
Purchase the flue gas tube only from the pharmacy, in unopened packaging. Its diameter depends on the age of the baby; for newborns, take the device with numbers 15 and 16 (the smallest). The dimensions of the tube 17 and 18 have a larger diameter and an additional third hole on the side. On the packaging, they usually write both the product number and the age of the baby for whom this tube is suitable.
Step 2
The flue pipe must be boiled before use. Let it cool, grease the rounded hole with boiled vegetable oil, petroleum jelly or baby cream. Wash your hands with soap and sterile thin gloves. Lay on a flat surface, for example, on a table, a fleece blanket, lay an oilcloth, and a diaper on it.
Step 3
The newborn should be placed on the back, and the older child should be placed on the left side. Gently press the baby's legs against the belly. For babies, insert the gas tube no more than three to four centimeters. For a child from a year old - no deeper than five to six centimeters. Make a mark on the tube to avoid damaging your baby's intestines.
Step 4
Calm the baby to relax. If he cries, the tense muscles will not allow the tube to be inserted painlessly. Pat your baby's tummy in a clockwise circular motion. Lightly and smoothly make a "bicycle" with the baby's legs. All of these actions will make it easier and faster for the gas to pass when you insert the tube. Gently rotate the gas tube into the anus at the specified distance.
Step 5
Support the attachment to prevent it from falling out. Slightly wiggle the straw to help the gases escape. The procedure should take about five to ten minutes. All this time, do not leave the child. When the feces and gases come out, the baby needs to be washed, and the gas outlet tube should be thoroughly washed.
Step 6
Reuse the flue gas pipe only after 3-4 hours. Try to do without it, feed the baby correctly, follow the regimen, do a massage.
Step 7
It is better, before putting the gas outlet tube on the baby for the first time, to observe this work performed by a nurse or doctor. After all, if you do something wrong, injuries to the mucous membrane of the child's rectum and subsequent bleeding are possible.
