The first "agu" and the first independent steps have passed. Now mom is waiting for her baby to start talking to her. Usually, at the age of two, children already pronounce individual words or even simple sentences. If this has not happened yet, do not rush to panic and take the child to the doctor, try to use several rules, perhaps they will help the baby to speak.

Stages of speech development in a child

There are certain norms of the baby's speech skills:

- 3 months - the first attempts to reproduce sounds, "humming";

- 4-7 months - distinct sound combinations such as "agu", "agy", "gy", etc.;

- 7-9 months - unconscious sound combinations such as "ma-ma", "pa-pa";

- 10 months - 1, 5 years - meaningful sounds and simple sentences: "mama kuku", "papa kuku", etc.

Already from 1, 5 years old, the child should begin to speak, while putting all the words in the correct cases and using them in the right order.

Pediatricians advise to start talking with the baby even when he is in the womb. They believe that thanks to this, the child will learn to speak faster.

Children first describe the objects around them. They quickly memorize nouns, then pronouns, and then adjectives that characterize the shape, color and size of objects. By the age of two, the baby should already be able to talk about his feelings (cold, hot, fun, painful).

How to teach a child to speak

If your baby is about two years old, and he still does not want to talk, try to help him with this. For starters, reduce or even eliminate the use of facial expressions. Toddlers read information about the world around them from their mother's face, so if you avoid facial expressions, the child will pay attention to the importance of speech.

All objects that the baby sees, name him clearly and, most importantly, correctly. If your child tries to say something and distorts the words, pronouncing them poorly, in no case repeat after him. Correct it and call things what they are.

During the game, it will be much easier for the baby to master the speech. Recently, a sufficient number of educational games have appeared. Start with a game where you will work together to match words to real (not abstract) objects. Speak simple phrases, for example: this is a cat, he says "meow", this is a chicken, she says "co-co-co," etc.

Also, books with bright, and even better with three-dimensional pictures will come to your aid. Show your child pictures and describe them. Tell him all the objects that are drawn there. When the baby learns the word, add other words to his vocabulary that characterize this subject.

Read fairy tales to your little one. They will not only help the baby speak faster, but will also develop his imagination.

Use massage to develop your speech areas. To do this, follow these steps, asking your baby to repeat after you:

- stroke the backs of your palms, saying at the same time: "let's stroke the kitty";

- rub your palm, saying: "it's cold, let's get warm";

- shake your hands and say: "this is how a bird flies."

You can come up with any exercises yourself. Use various constructors, blocks, puzzles, they develop fine motor skills, which is responsible for speech skills. And most importantly, communicate more with your child, play with him, and he will definitely start talking.
