One of the accessories of a child's dowry is a lace corner for a newborn, which plays not only a decorative role, but also has a more important purpose - to hide the baby's face from prying eyes, to “hide” the baby in gusts of wind, and even in some way to protect it from the ubiquitous microorganisms in places a large crowd of people will help the thinnest cambric. A beautifully sewn corner can be an excellent gift for a baby.

It is necessary

thin fabric 100x100cm, lace in white and pink (or blue) colors, narrow satin ribbon of the same colors, threads

Instructions

Step 1

Usually, a thin white cambric is selected for the corner. However, the corners of gentle tones - blue, pink, salad, yellow - look no less beautiful. You can also choose a printed fabric for the corner, for example, in small roses or with a hidden pattern. A lace fabric that already has an embossed pattern is perfect for these purposes.

Step 2

Depending on the expected period of use of the corner, you can sew it in different sizes. A corner of no more than 100x100 cm will be universal, since in most cases children are quickly transferred to more "adult" clothing options. Thus, for the corner you will need material 100x100 cm in size. If the fabric is narrow, then the corner will turn out to be slightly smaller, for example, 90x90 cm. In addition, you will need lace or sewing of different widths (two harmonious colors are possible) and narrow satin ribbons.

Step 3

Cut a square of the selected size from a white fabric into a small embossed rose. Place the fabric in front of you diagonally and sew several strips of lace on one of the corners, for example, every 5 cm, consistently combining white and pink colors. After that, sew the product itself, having previously rounded the corner a little. To make the corner more elegant, it is permissible to process its edges with a double row of lace (one wider, the other narrower).

Step 4

Take a wide (no more than 5 cm) pink lace, make small tucks along the entire length, securing them with a basting. Repeat the same manipulations with white lace (up to 3 cm wide). Align the resulting blanks along the entire length, placing a narrow part on a wide one, and fasten them together with a basting. Baste "double" gathered lace around the entire perimeter of the corner (or just at the rounded corner), then sew it with an overlock or machine with a zigzag stitch.

Step 5

As an additional decoration, narrow satin ribbons of pink and white colors (up to 10 mm wide) are perfect, which can be folded in the form of small bows and also sew them around the entire perimeter of the corner every 10-15 cm.
