Step 1
For baby diapers, choose natural cotton fabrics that are soft to the touch (chintz for thin diapers, flannel for warm ones). Now on sale there is a large offer of various fabric colors. For girls, you can pick up fabrics in pink colors, with girlish patterns. Matching fabric designs can be chosen for boys too. Such universal drawings as toys and animals will suit any kids.
Select the fabric based on the width of the fabric 80-90 centimeters. Calculate the length depending on the required number of diapers at the rate of 110-120 centimeters for each.
Step 2
To avoid shrinkage of the fabric in ready-made diapers, wash the fabric before opening the diaper. Once dry, iron on both sides with a hot iron.
Step 3
Fold the fabric in several diaper-sized layers (110-120 centimeters). Cut along the folded edges.
It is better not to cut some chintz fabrics, but to divide them with a sharp jerk along the transverse threads, after cutting the edge of the fabric with scissors.
Step 4
If possible, process the side edges of the diapers on an overlock. Can be stitched with bright threads in contrasting colors. Using the sewing machine, sew the sides of the diaper with a hem hem. If you are not sure that you can immediately sew a seam on a typewriter, then first sew it on your hands. Then sew on a typewriter. Tie the ends of the threads in knots and cut.
Step 5
Wash the finished diapers in hot water with baby powder (for example, "Eared Nian"). Once dry, iron on both sides with a hot iron. Place them in a neat stack. The diapers for the baby are ready.
