The casts or prints of the baby's hands and feet will forever preserve the memory of the happy time of childhood. Currently, there are many manufacturers of ready-made kits for making such impressions. In addition, many firms offer the service of creating memorial casts, while the design of a memorable gift will be discussed in detail with you. However, such a souvenir can be made on your own at home, without resorting to expensive commercial offers.
Instructions
Step 1
Dissolve 1 tablespoon of starch in half a glass of cold water, then pour into 1 cup of boiling water, stir. Add flour and salt, knead the dough. Place the resulting dough on a flat surface and press the baby's palm or foot into the dough.
Step 2
Dissolve the gypsum quickly with water until a homogeneous mass is obtained (approximately the consistency of sour cream) and pour the gypsum into a dough mold. When the plaster has hardened, release the plaster cast from the mold. If necessary, sand the roughness with sandpaper or a nail file. When doing this, be very careful not to damage any lines and creases that have been printed on the impression.
Step 3
Select the desired color of gouache and paint over the cast.
Step 4
You can make a dough for an impression in another way: mix 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt and add a little PVA glue. Spread the resulting dough on a baking sheet, make prints of the handles or legs in the same place and bake in the oven over the lowest heat for 2-3 hours. You can use the prints themselves for decoration or fill them with plaster (or putty), as described above.
