The canopy above the bed gives the sleeping area a sophisticated look and at the same time makes it cozy and protected. This will surely please your children, who will feel like they are in a fabulous oriental palace under a canopy. Parents can build it over the bed.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose a fabric for your canopy. For a children's bedroom, light natural materials of calm colors are best suited. The width of the fabric should be about 1.2-1.5 meters. To determine the length of the cut, measure the perimeter of the bed. The length of the fabric for the canopy should be one and a half to two times longer.

Step 2

Fold the bottom edge of the fabric one and a half centimeters and sew. Provide the top edge with eyelets. To do this, buy ready-made rings (at the rate of 1 ring per 15 cm of fabric). Fold the upper edge of the canopy so that the width of the strip is 2 cm larger than the diameter of the eyelet. Place an eyelet tape between the layers of the wrapped strip and fix it with an iron. Mark with a pencil or felt-tip pen equal segments of 15 cm: at this distance from each other there will be rings. Cut out the circles for the eyelets from the fabric (the hole should be a couple of millimeters wider than the eyelet) and insert the fasteners, pressing them until they click, which means that the eyelet halves are secured.

Step 3

You can also use another method of fastening - make a drawstring in the upper part of the canopy, the width of which will slightly exceed the width of the bar at the base of the entire structure.

Step 4

Make the canopy frame from a metal rod bent into a circle of a suitable diameter. You can also use a U-shaped frame made of metal or wood, attached to the wall at the head of the bed. Attach the canopy structure with metal furniture fasteners to the ceiling or wall.

Step 5

If you prefer a frame fixed to the wall and equal to the perimeter of the bed, a one and a half meter wide fabric that will reach the level of the mattress will suit you. If you choose a suspended ceiling canopy in the form of a circle, make sure that the length of the falling drapery is sufficient to stretch it to the corners of the bed and fasten it with ribbons to the legs.
