Cottage cheese is an unusually healthy product. It contains a large amount of nutrients that have a beneficial effect on the health of the child. But, like any other food, it should be introduced into the infant's diet correctly.

Instructions

Step 1

The age at which a child is ready to consume cottage cheese is determined individually. But it is not recommended to give it before 6 months, since there will be no benefit from this, but harm is quite possible. A high protein content can have a negative effect on kidney function, disrupt metabolism or cause allergies. Introduce cottage cheese from 8-9 months, having previously consulted about this with your attending pediatrician.

Step 2

Use only the special baby curd that is sold in the store, or cook it yourself, which is even better. It must necessarily be without fillers. It is impossible to feed a baby with ordinary cottage cheese, because during its manufacture the special norms developed for baby food are not observed. In addition, the baby curd has a softer and more uniform consistency, which is very important for babies with a poorly developed chewing apparatus.

Step 3

When purchasing cottage cheese in a store, carefully read the recommendations for it. After that, add a couple more months to the date indicated on it. Among industrial children's curds, there are two types - creamy and dairy. The first contains a greater amount of fat and nutrients, so it is recommended to give it to babies who are underweight. And milk - for overweight children.

Step 4

Cook the product yourself. Pour baby or 1% kefir into a clean jar. Place it in a pot of water on the stove top. Boil water for 5 minutes and fold the curd obtained from kefir onto cheesecloth. Then cool it down to room temperature and give it to the child.

Step 5

Start introducing cottage cheese into the baby's diet with a quarter teaspoon once a day, gradually bringing it to 20-30 g. By the year, the amount of the product should not exceed 50 g per day. After two years, the weekly rate of cottage cheese in the baby's diet should be 350 g.

Step 6

After a year, start feeding your child with cottage cheese dishes, such as casseroles, cheesecakes, or soufflés. You can also carefully start giving curd with filler, but only with one to which he is not allergic.
