In most cases, tubo-otitis, or eustachitis, occurs in children due to the ingestion of pathogenic bacteria from pneumococci. In this case, we can already talk about the presence of an infectious disease, which was caused by viruses that spread throughout the body and reached the nasopharynx and hearing organs. If a child often suffers from colds, flu, bronchitis, tracheitis and other diseases of the ENT organs, the risk of inflammation of the auditory tube increases several times.

Symptoms of the disease

Children have a more straight and somewhat shortened ear canal, which determines their predisposition to ear diseases and, in particular, tubootitis. Symptoms of the disease are the same as in adults and are associated with tinnitus, congestion in the ears, and poor hearing. In this case, the baby may notice a temporary normalization of hearing when sneezing, yawning or coughing. The temperature with Eustachitis is within normal limits. The kid is practically not worried about anything, he does not feel pain, which creates difficulties for self-diagnosis and requires contacting a specialist.

Treatment of the disease

First of all, it is necessary to eliminate the unfavorable factors that led to the inflammation of the auditory tube. To reduce the swelling of the mucous membrane, vasoconstrictor nasal drops are prescribed. The same effect can be achieved with antihistamine therapy. To prevent the throwing of infected mucus, it is not recommended for a sick child to blow his nose too much.

Positive dynamics is observed after catheterization - blowing the auditory tube. In traditional medicine, pneumomassage of the tympanic membrane is widely used for tubo-otitis in children. In some cases, the doctor may decide to remove adenoids or benign nasal tumors, ventilate the airways of the nasopharynx, and resect the inferior turbinate. Great importance is attached to physiotherapeutic procedures: UHF, laser therapy, UFO.

Tubo-otitis is treatable and non-traditional methods. You can take a piece of onion, heat it up, wrap it in gauze and apply it to the child's sore ear. The course of treatment is 1 month.

Mix lavender, yarrow, celandine, dandelion root and eucalyptus leaf in equal parts, mix everything, 2 tbsp. l. pour 0.5 liters of boiling water over the mixture and leave overnight. In the morning, strain and give the child ¼ cup to drink 3 times a day.

A mixture for instillation into the ear, prepared at home, is also very effective. The head of garlic should be grated, mixed with 120 g of sunflower oil and removed in a cool dark place for 10-12 days. Then strain and add a little glycerin. Instill in the ear 1-3 drops in a warm form.
