Most pregnant women, with the approach of the birth of a long-awaited baby, are concerned about how to determine the onset of labor. Doctors-obstetricians identify several signs that indicate the beginning of the labor process in a woman. However, not every pregnant woman has them all, but, nevertheless, the appearance of 2 - 3 symptoms suggests that the baby will soon be born.
Instructions
Step 1
Bloody discharge (pink, brown, or red). This sign indicates the expansion, movement and preparation of the uterus for childbirth. Labor can usually begin within hours to several weeks.
Step 2
Discharge of the mucous plug, which during pregnancy protected the fetus, tightly closing the cervical canal. Rejection of the plug occurs when the cervix changes and expands. Labor can begin within a few hours to two weeks.
Step 3
Involuntary stool is a natural way of preparing the body for childbirth. Labor usually begins within 24 hours.
Step 4
The appearance of contractions - regular contractions of the uterus, accompanied by severe pain in the lower abdomen or lower back. Contractions help the cervix expand and open up. As labor approaches, the contractions become more frequent, painful, and prolonged.
Step 5
The appearance of pain in the lumbar region also indicates imminent childbirth.
