Do I need to store a bridal bouquet?

A wedding bouquet is an indispensable attribute of the bride. Therefore, there is nothing strange about wanting to keep it after the wedding. True, there are no specific traditions that dictate what to do with the bouquet after the wedding. For example, in the nineteenth century, some romantic-minded girls began to sew dried bouquets into a pillow and store them in a chest along with an elegant dress.

However, an interesting tradition of "throwing the bride's bouquet" into the crowd of unmarried girls came from the West. And in this case, the question has already become not very relevant, because the bouquet usually goes to the lucky woman who caught it. True, there is also a loophole - the bride throws a reserve bouquet into the crowd.

Perhaps few people know that a wedding bouquet is a symbol of a husband's love. It is believed that its preservation is able to preserve the love of a spouse for life. But such beliefs are not followed by all. Some just keep a beautiful bouquet, because it is a pity to part with it.

Ways to store a bouquet after the wedding

After the wedding, the bouquet should be wrapped in paper and put to dry in a dark place for one to four weeks. True, some bouquets do not dry out even after a month. Then you will have to wait some more time. Much depends on what kind of bouquets they are made of. Hang it upside down to dry. Of course, not all flowers will stand for a long time. For example, roses fade very quickly, but the composition can simply be freed from wilted buds. After drying, the bouquet can be neatly placed in a vase or hung in a frame on the wall.

It is also possible to dry separately only the flower heads. To do this, they will need to be separated from the stems and put in a dark and dry place. Gradually, all the moisture will come out of the heads. Then they can be shifted from a small box and a little sprinkled with your favorite perfume that you used on the solemn day. Periodically looking into this box, you will receive positive emotions from pleasant wedding memories.

Some people simply preserve the bridal bouquet with regular hairspray. After the wedding, sazu is sprayed with a significant amount of varnish on the bouquet and hung upside down. The varnish immediately creates a protective film around the petals. At the same time, the original shape of the buds remains for a long time.
