Sooner or later, all parents are faced with the need to teach their child the names and order of the days of the week. The alternation of days of the week, time in general - are abstract concepts. They cannot be touched, they have no color, which means that it is very difficult for children to remember them. To help your child learn the days of the week, it is best to organize activities in a playful way. Using homemade visual aids will help your child “see and touch” the days of the week and learning will go much better.
Necessary
- - colored paper;
- - colored cardboard;
- - markers
Instructions
Step 1
Tell your child that there are seven days in a week. Please name them in order. Pay attention to the child that the name of some days of the week contains a "hint": Tuesday - the second day of the week, Wednesday - in the middle of the week, Thursday - the fourth, Friday - the fifth.
Step 2
More often draw the child's attention to the fact that many events in his life are repeated on certain days. For example, on Tuesdays you go to the pool with him, on Fridays you go to the dances, and on Saturday, your grandmother usually comes to visit.
Step 3
Make a simple calendar (like a loose-leaf calendar) for 7 days. Even if the child still does not know how to read and does not know the numbers, write down the names of the days of the week in large clear letters and their serial numbers in large numbers. Let every morning, waking up, the child turns over yesterday's piece of paper, and you tell him: "Today is Tuesday, the second day of the week."
Step 4
Make a visual calendar in the form of a clock face, where instead of the usual numbers indicating the time, there will be the names of the days of the week (better - with their ordinal numbers) and one hand. Every morning, translate the arrow with your child to the desired day of the week and pronounce the name of the day.
Step 5
Another way to visualize the sequence of days in a week is to draw on paper or make an appliqué in the form of a train and seven multi-colored trailers with the names of the days of the week. At the same time, it becomes clear to the child that just as the carriages behind the steam locomotive always follow in the same order and cannot change places, so the days of the week strictly follow one after the other and Friday can never overtake Wednesday.
Step 6
Well, another way to help your child learn the days of the week is to learn a funny poem about the days of the week with him. There are a lot of such poems on the Internet on children's sites. Here's an example of one of these simple rhymes: On Monday I washed the floor on Tuesday, sweeping on Wednesday, I baked a roll, all Thursday I was looking for balls, cups on Friday, I washed a cake on Saturday, bought all my friends on Sunday, and called for their birthday. If you are studying with your little son, the rhyme is easily "remade" for the boy hero.
