As soon as the baby gets up on his feet and tries to walk, an important task arises for the parents - buying shoes for the crumbs. As the small family member is constantly growing, going to the shoe store becomes a regular event. How to choose the right size for children's shoes? Before going to the store for an update for a child, you need to answer this question for yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a piece of cardboard or paper. Put your child on it (in socks).
Step 2
Draw a pencil around both feet.
Step 3
Draw a line from the most prominent point of the heel to the outline of the big toe. Make this pattern for both feet and measure the length of the resulting straight line in each pattern.
Step 4
If the lengths of the left and right feet are different, choose the one that is longer. Thus, you have determined the shoe size in the metric system (the unit of measurement is millimeter). The interval between each successive dimension is 5 mm.
Step 5
To determine the size of imported shoes, the so-called shtihmass system with a unit of measurement - shtikh (1 stich equals 6, 67 mm or 0, 67 cm) is adopted. Manufacturers also make the so-called decorative allowance, equal to about 1 cm. system can be defined as follows:
(child's foot length (in cm) + decorative allowance (1 cm)) / 0.67 cm. Every shoe store has ready-made conversion tables from one measurement system to another, so parents need to know the length of the baby's foot to choose children's shoes, or it is better to have with a cut out mold of the foot.
Step 6
After choosing a model, put the mold inside the boot or shoe. If the sizes match, you can proceed directly to the fitting.
Step 7
Place the shoes on both of your child's feet and place them on the floor.
Step 8
There should be a margin of 1 cm between the child's toes and the toe of the shoe. This is necessary both for summer shoes, in case the legs swell a little from the heat, and for winter ones, so that the feet do not freeze.
To determine this margin, try inserting your pinky toe between the child's heel and the heel of the boot. The thickness of the little finger of an adult is just about 1 cm.
