For a long time, in many countries, women had to play a subordinate role. An eloquent fact: even in such a highly developed European state as Switzerland, women received voting rights only a few decades ago! Now gender equality in most states is enshrined in legislation. But many feminists argue that women still face tons of restrictions. So does this equality exist or not? And is it even possible?
Instructions
Step 1
To determine whether there is equality, first of all, one should understand: what, in fact, is understood by the term itself. Some representatives of the fair sex interpret it too simplistic, straightforward. Say, equality is the possibility of admitting women to absolutely any job. And any restrictions, including those dictated by concern for a woman's health and her reproductive function, they meet with hostility.
Step 2
However, no laws on gender equality can abolish the differences between men and women that are determined by nature itself. The average woman is weaker than a man and less resilient - this is an indisputable fact. Women for the most part are more emotional, impressionable. Finally, due to natural causes due to physiology, some women of childbearing age regularly experience a deterioration in well-being, increased irritability, decreased attention, and concentration for several days a month.
Step 3
Therefore, it is not surprising that those professions that require great physical strength, endurance, maximum concentration, the ability to quickly and coolly respond to a sudden emerging extreme situation are still mostly a male prerogative. For example, they try not to take women into the special forces of the armed forces and the police, into the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that are involved in extinguishing fires, and rescue operations. And they hardly should be loaders, since women are future mothers, and lifting weights is very harmful to the female body. Individual exceptions cannot refute this general rule.
Step 4
Finally, it is on the woman that nature has entrusted the duty of procreation. Therefore, the lady who wants to make a successful career and at the same time be a good, caring mother, involuntarily faces the question: what to choose, what to donate. It is far from always possible to successfully combine both, even with the help of a husband and other close people.
Step 5
The term “equality” should not be taken too literally. Of course, there are many examples of how a woman reached heights in the most male professions or hobbies (mountaineering, parachuting, etc.). But it is better to remember that nature has not created different men and women for nothing. They should complement each other harmoniously, and not compete in the struggle for equality.
