Should a child buy this or that thing? Many parents face this question. Some purchases may be simply useless, while others may be harmful to the child. Therefore, it is worth thinking carefully before making a decision.
Instructions
Step 1
Television.
An absolutely unnecessary purchase for a child is a separate TV set in his room. You do not want your child to stare at the screen meaninglessly, spoil his eyesight and be overweight. And a couple of hours for watching cartoons or children's programs can be allocated on the family TV.
Step 2
Smartphone.
Smartphones, iPods and other electronics don't make your child smarter. And they are not cheap. Rather, it is a way to compete among children, which of them is cooler. Enroll your child in the sports section. Let him be proud of his achievements in sports, not a cool phone.
Step 3
Expensive clothing.
A small child does not care how much his blouse or pants costs. It can also stain expensive and cheaper clothes. If a teenager begs for expensive jeans or sneakers from you, then you should not immediately buy him what he asks, even if you can afford it. You can try to agree that if the desired thing is bought for him, then he will have to limit himself to something else, for example, in pocket money. The teenager should be aware that money doesn’t come easy. He may even want to earn them himself.
Step 4
Little things.
There is no need to buy any little thing for a child that he asks, even if it is cheap. Indulging in all the whims of a child can harm him. A capricious and wasteful person will later grow out of him.
Step 5
A lot of toys.
The more toys you buy for your child, the more he asks for. Usually, if a child has a lot of toys, then they quickly get bored with them, he ceases to appreciate them and even begins to break them on purpose. Try to periodically hide some toys, then get and hide others. So he will forget about them for a while, and then they will become interesting to him as "new".
Step 6
Violent video games.
Recently, there has been an increase in cases of aggression and cruelty among children playing video games. Keep track of what games your children are playing and buy games that develop thinking and logic.
