In order not to be mistaken in your choice of a crib, it is necessary to assess its condition before making a purchase decision.

Almost any used product has more or less obvious signs (traces) of product use. This is especially true for baby products, since children, growing up, begin to be active in cribs: shake the sides, jump on the bed, gnaw on available parts (for this reason, there are special pads on the top of the sides of many cribs - "anti-chewers").

Often there is such a defect in a used crib, such as jamming of the sidewall lowering mechanism due to deformation of the fittings working in the place of sidewall lowering. In addition, during operation, you can damage or scratch the crib in one way or another. Therefore, inspect the appearance of used goods as carefully as possible before purchasing.

When assessing the condition of used goods, carefully inspect the joints of the product for scuffs, chips, and traces of squeezing. Not all fittings can withstand multiple assembly / disassembly, so it may turn out that you have to replace some of the fittings. If there are a lot of abrasions around the connection of the hole or its contour is deformed, it is better to refuse to purchase a crib: it is quite possible that it will loosen, sway, etc.

Its repeated transportation significantly affects the appearance and functionality of a used crib, which increases the risk of scratches, chips, scuffs. The term of use of the product is of great importance. Pay attention to how long and in what mode you used the used bed, whether the factory service life has expired. Even if the product has not been used for a long time, after several years, the material from which it is made (wood) will inevitably dry out. In addition, a certain "fatigue" of the material accumulates over time. The technical term "fatigue" means that a material can withstand a certain load only for a certain period, after which the part can break itself without obvious external influences, from wear.

Ask where the used crib was stored. If in an apartment or closet, etc. - this is the best option for the conditions of its storage. If, however, in the garage, in the attic, on the balcony, the bed must have been exposed to a significant temperature drop. In this case, it is better to refrain from buying in order to avoid an unpleasant surprise. For example, a wooden product that dramatically changes the temperature of its "habitation", after being carried from a cold garage to a warm house, after a couple of days can dry out and warp.

All of the above applies similarly to the rental of children's goods. The only difference is that used goods from the rental point are collected and disassembled more times with the corresponding consequences. There is only one advantage of buying a used crib before buying it "from hand" - storing the product in proper conditions.
